Marketing automation for law firms
Lead intake, client communication, case-status updates — built for solo + small-firm practices that need automation without burning their nights on tooling.
The law firms marketing problem
We've worked with law firms operators. Here's what keeps breaking.
Lead-to-consult conversion needs speed
Personal injury and family law leads convert when called back within 5 minutes. Conduit auto-text and Auto-DM responds in under 60 seconds 24/7.
Client communication is mostly email + phone
Most CRMs aren't built for legal's communication pattern. Conduit's unified inbox covers email + phone (via Twilio) + SMS + DMs.
Intake forms and engagement letters live in PDF hell
Intake forms emailed as PDF, signed back as scan. Conduit Docs handles intake + engagement letter via magic-link with retainer payment.
How Conduit fits law firms
Inbox (lead intake speed)
Inbound lead from website form / paid ad / phone call triggers instant auto-text + auto-email. Routes to attorney on call.
Docs (intake + engagement)
Send intake forms, fee agreements, retainer payment links via magic-link. ESIGN-compliant audit log.
Outreach (referral nurture)
Long-cycle nurture for referral partners (other attorneys, financial advisors, doctors). Birthday + practice-anniversary touches.
Flows (case-status updates)
Webhook from practice management software (Clio, MyCase) → trigger client SMS / email on case milestones (filed, served, hearing scheduled).
Publisher (thought leadership)
Schedule LinkedIn posts, blog content (via webhook to firm site), client-education videos to IG / TikTok / FB.
Analytics (per-attorney ROI)
Marketing source → consultation → engaged-client conversion per attorney. Useful for firm-level commission / origination tracking.
Speed-to-lead is the legal marketing KPI
Legal marketing data is consistent: prospective clients (especially in PI, family, criminal) call multiple firms simultaneously. The firm that responds first wins. Industry data: 78% of clients hire the first attorney they speak with; response-time over 5 minutes drops conversion 80%.
Conduit Inbox + Flows handle this natively. Inbound lead (web form, paid ad form, phone call) fires a Flow within seconds: instant auto-text acknowledging receipt, calendar link for free consult, routing to on-call attorney for a callback. Most law firms see 20-40% conversion lift just from response-time improvement.
The referral partner nurture playbook
Mid-size firms get 40-60% of their matters from referrals. Most don't systematize the referral relationship — they hope it keeps flowing. Conduit Atelier's referral-nurture playbook:
- Map referral sources (other attorneys, financial advisors, doctors, real estate agents) into contact graph.
- Birthday touch, practice-anniversary touch, holiday touch via SMS + email.
- Quarterly thought-leadership content sent to referral list.
- Annual hand-written note via Conduit's Lob integration (Atelier add-on).
Standard implementation: $4,500 setup. Most firms see materially increased referral matters within 6-12 months.
Composite scenarios
Hypothetical agency scenarios drawn from real engagements. Names are illustrative.
Composite: 3-attorney PI firm
Personal injury firm, $200k/mo on paid search + TV. Stack: Clio + Mailchimp + manual phone calls for lead intake.
Conduit Atelier for instant auto-text on inbound leads. Lead-to-consult conversion up 28%. ROI in 30 days.
Composite: solo family law attorney
Solo practice, 30 active matters. Marketing was "Google ads + word of mouth". Spending 6 hours/week on marketing admin.
Conduit Growth automated intake forms, retainer payment, client status updates. Reclaimed 4 hours/week. Took on 5 more matters.
Composite: 12-attorney litigation firm
Mid-size litigation, complex referral network. Needed long-cycle referral partner nurture + thought leadership presence.
Conduit Atelier for multi-channel referral nurture (LinkedIn + email + occasional handwritten note via Conduit's direct-mail integration). 18% increase in referral-source matters in year 1.
Right-sized pricing for law firms
Solo / 2-attorney firms: Growth ($397/mo). Mid-size firms (5-15 attorneys): Atelier ($997/mo). Typically replaces Mailchimp + manual intake + Clio Grow ($99/mo) — net savings $50-$200/mo plus speed-to-lead improvement.
law firms — FAQ
- Does Conduit integrate with Clio / MyCase / PracticePanther?
- Clio: webhook + API integration. MyCase, PracticePanther, Smokeball: webhook integration. Most legal PMSes expose enough webhooks to push case events into Conduit.
- Confidentiality and attorney-client privilege?
- Conduit Atelier signs confidentiality + DPA. Encryption at rest and in transit. Don't store privileged case strategy in Conduit; keep it in your PMS / practice file. Conduit is for marketing comms + client status, not legal work product.
- Retainer / trust accounting?
- Conduit Docs handles retainer payment via Stripe (advance fee). Once paid, funds need to be transferred to IOLTA / trust account per your jurisdiction's rules. Conduit doesn't hold trust funds.

- Under 60 seconds for auto-text and auto-email response. Phone call routing to on-call attorney is also configurable.

- ABA model rule compliance?
- Conduit's outbound features are compatible with ABA Model Rule 7.3 (anti-solicitation) when configured to target referral partners and not direct prospective clients. Final compliance is the firm's responsibility.
- Migration timeline?
- Solo / small firm: 2 weeks. Mid-size firm: 4-6 weeks (PMS integration + role-based access setup adds time).
